CBS is not getting in business with Nancy Drew.
The network has scrapped the pilot about the legendary sleuth, a project that was looking to make the iconic character diverse in the latest iteration, as Nancy was to be played by Sarah Shahi (“Person of Interest”).
The Hollywood Reporter reports that it was a battle between Katherine Heigl legal drama “Doubt” and “Nancy Drew” for the last drama slot on CBS’ schedule. The former made the cut.
CBS Television Studios is now shopping the pilot, which “didn’t come in as strong” as network brass hat hoped, elsewhere.
More bad news for TV fans.
FOX has officially canceled its drama “Second Chance”, formerly known as “Looking Glass”, formerly known as “The Frankenstein Code”.
And then news came in that ABC will not be moving forward with its latest Marvel entry “Most Wanted”. After cancelling “Agent Carter” earlier, “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” is currently the only Marvel show on ABC.
When AMC launches the sixth season of “The Walking Dead” on October 11, expect a few new names to pop up among the regulars, the Hollywood Reporter reports.
Alexandra Breckenridge, Tovah Feldshuh and Austin Nichols have all been upped to full-fledged series regulars for the new season.
Breckenridge plays Jessie Anderson, Rick’s (Andrew Lincoln) love interest since the group’s arrival in Alexandria. Feldshuh plays Alexandria’s fiercful leading figure Deanna Monroe and Nichols plays Deanna’s son, Spencer.
