Time for another big casting update.
- Per EW’s Tim Stack, veteran actor F. Murray Abraham (“Amadeus”, “The Name of the Rose”) has been added to the cast of Showtime’s upcoming second season of “Homeland”, where he’ll play the heavily recurring role of Dar Adul, “a brilliant intelligence operative in his 60-70’s. When the Television Critics Association (TCA) holds its annual summer press tour, where the new fall shows are presented in front of countless US TV journalists, there are also some existing shows getting their well-deserved spotlight.
Last night, the TCA handed out its annual TCA Awards, and, not surprisingly, “Homeland”, along with “Game of Thrones” were the shows with the most kudos by evening’s end. “Homeland” got the most awards, while “Thrones” took home the most prestigious award – Program of the Year.
Here’s the full list of winners:
At least one of the Bravermans might find out soon that she loves Raymond.
Ray Romano (“Everbody Loves Raymond”) has joined the cast of NBC’s “Parenthood” for multiple episodes, TVLine’s Megan Masters reports. The actor will play a photographer who shows more than just porfesssional interest in Sarah (Lauren Graham) – a fact that of course doesn’t sit too well with Mark (returning Jason Ritter).

And on to other news.
This just in, from the Hollywood Reporter.
Henry Ian Cusick, who played handsome Stephen Finch on the first season of ABC’s new Shonda Rhimes drama “Scandal”, will not be returning to the cast when the second season launches in the fall. His option was not picked up. On the other hand, Joshua Malina has been upped to a full-fledged series regular for next season.
And here’s what else is happening.
The Television Critics Association (TCA) has announced this year’s nominees for the 28th annual TCA Awards, which will be handed out during this year’s TCA Summer Press Tour, on Saturday, July 28.
Showtime’s acclaimed new drama “Homeland” leads with four nominations.
