And another one that was very much on the bubble just saw it burst.
After three seasons, ABC has officially canceled medical crime drama “Body of Proof”.
Also gone is “The New Normal”, over at NBC.
ABC has announced its midseason premiere dates today, and those are the dates you’ll have to mark in your calendar.
“Body of Proof” will return on Tuesday, February 5, at 10 PM ET for its re-vamped third season, featuring new cast member Mark Valley.
“Suburgatory” will make a move to 8.30 PM ET on Wednesday night, beginning April 3.
And then, there are several new shows premiering, which are listed in the full schedule below, with the descriptions directly from the press release following after.
And more casting news have appeared.

- Vanessa Marcil and Tom Arnold have both scored guest parts on CBS’ “Hawaii Five-O”, per TVLine’s Vlada Gelman and TVGuide’s WIlliam Keck. Marcil will appear in a November episode as a therapist Steve McGarrett (Alex O’Loughlin) suspect of messing with his mind upon her involvement in a murder case. Arnold will guest star in the current season’s ninth episode as the main villain, in a case about a Girl Scout outing that Steve and Danny (Scott Caan) visit.

And here, before the Emmys really will take over this day, are a few items from the very recent past that need mentioning.
- According to TVLine’s Matt Webb Mitovich, “Treme” co-creator David Simon announced at a screening at the Joy Theater in New Orleans yesterday that the HBO drama was renewed for a fourth and final season, which gives the producers the total season run they had envisioned.

And here’s what’s been happening in the casting department lately. I’m still very busy at the moment, as you might have noticed from the lack of updates lately, so here are only a few things that I think need to be out there.
- Miley Cyrus (“Hannah Montana”) – and her new haircut – have joined CBS’ “Two And A Half Men” for a two-episode arc, per TVLine’s Michael Ausiello. She will play “Missi, an old family friend of Walden’s (Ashton Kutcher) who comes to visit for a week and develops a relationship with Jake (Angus T. Jones) when he comes home from the army.”
“iCarly” might soon be ending, but you haven’t seen the last of some of the characters on that show, and you might even get more Cat Valentine from “Victorious” if Nickelodeon has its way.
Per EW’s Dan Snierson, The cable network has ordered two pilots, one tentatively called “Sam a Cat”, where “iCarly’s” Sam Puckett (Jennette McCurdy) and “Victorious”‘ Cat Valentine (Ariana Grande) team up as roommates and launch a babysitting business to get some cash for their adventures.
Additionally, a spin-off for another “iCarly” character is in the works. Gibby Gibson (Noah Munck) might get his own series, too. In what is tentatively titled “Gibby”, Gibby Gibson gets a gig at a recreational center, where he winds up as a mentor to four offbeat middle-school students.
Both pilots are said to be in the hands of “iCarly” and “Victorious” creator Dan Schneider. Production on both pilots is set for this summer.
On to more stories.
When the new TV season rolls out in the fall, there will be some new regulars coming along for the ride.
Deadline’s Nellie Andreeva reports that Mark Valley (“Human Target”) has joined the cast of ABC’s “Body of Proof” as a new regular.
Barely a day after news came that John Carroll Lynch would not be returning to ABC’s “Body of Proof” when the show returns for its, for now, 13-episode third season in the fall, TVLine’s Michael Ausiello now reports that two other cast members are exiting the crime drama as well.
John Carroll Lynch is about to switch his medical friends.
The actor, who has been a regular on ABC’s “Body of Proof” since the very first episode, will not be part of the medical procedural’s upcoming third sea on, TVLine’s Kimberly Roots reports. His option for next season was not picked up.
