The new Munsters family is quickly coming together.
According to TVLine’s Michael Ausiello, NBC has cast Jerry O’Connell in the role of Herman Munster in “Mockingbird Lane”, its upcoming reboot of the legendary “Munsters”. Fred Gwynne played the part of the family patriarch back in the 60s.
The project stems from Bryan Fuller (“Heroes”, “Pushing Daisies”, the upcoming “Hannibal”) and writer-director Bryan Singer (“X-Men”). While the classic TV series was a comedy, the new show is, per NBC”, a “visually spectacular one hour drama.” Production was set to begin in spring, but casting issues pushed it back to summer.
What do you think? Is O’Connell the right fit for Herman? Sound off in the comments!
