According to TVLine’s Michael Ausiello, one of the doctors at Oceanside is checking out, permanently.
Tim Daly, who plays Dr. Pete Wilder on ABC’s “Private Practice”, will not be part of the upcoming sixth, and likely final season in the fall.
Daly tweeted the following about the fact that his option to return to the show for next season wasn’t picked up. “Wonderful fans of PPP. Shonda informed my agent today that Pete won’t be returning for season 6. It was a great 5 yrs. R.I.P. Pete Wilder.”
Per Ausiello, the reason for Daly’s exit is most likely to be blamed at cost-cutting measures, which might have played a part in the show getting a very late renewal and a shorter season of 13 episodes.
