In case you were wondering why you saw pictures of Tina Majorino at last night’s “True Blood” Season Five premiere, here is your answer.
Per TVLine’s Michael Ausiello, Majorino (“Big Love”, “Veronica Mars”) has indeed joined the cast of HBO’s fang-tastic vampire drama next season in a recurring capacity.
Deadline’s Nellie Andreeva reports today that Showtime has officially picked up its half-hour comedy “Nurse Jackie” for a fifth season.
According to Deadline’s Nellie Andreeva, Lifetime is currently looking to pick up leftovers from the broadcast upfronts.
The cable network is currently in talks to pick up passed-over ABC dramedy “Devious Maids”, created by Marc Cherry (“Desperate Housewives”).
USA has released a first look trailer for the upcoming fourth season of its hot drama “White Collar”.
Neal is on the run, and that fact does have some hefty repercussions for FBI agent Peter Burke, as you can see in the promo below, after the jump.

At least for me, ABC’s upcoming fall drama “Last Resort” just got a whole lot more interesting.
Per TVLine’s Michael Ausiello, Robert Patrick, who plays the USS Colorado’s master chief Joseph Prosser, and was only a guest star in the pilot, has now been upgraded to a series regular.

- NBC has announced that it has greenlighted “The Winner Is…”, another singing competition series from “The Voice” producer John De Mol. In the new format, talents from all ages, soloists and groups that include adults, kids, teens, seniors, families and professionals will compete for a prize of $1 Million in head-to-head duels. They will be judged by a panel of one celeb judge, who is yet to be cast, and, if on the verge of being voted out, have the option to quit and take a predetermined cash amount, or continue the game, with the risk of losing everything they gained. Except maybe some life lessons…
According to Zap2It’s David Eckstein, Britsh actor James Frain (“True Blood”, “The Cape”) has landed a recurring guest starring role on the upcoming second season of NBC’s “Grimm”.

June 10 is the date all “True Blood” fans have marked blood-red in their calendars. It’s when the fifth season of HBO’s Southern bloodsuckers drama returns, at 9 PM, to be exact.
But to whet your appetite for blood for the new episodes, here are two trailers that will make you scream for more.

- TVLine’s Megan Masters reports that Ryan McPartlin (“Chuck”) has been added to the cast of “Touch”-based web series “Daybreak”. No details were given on his character in the series that centers on the Dodecahedron, the 12-sided shape that was recently introduced on “Touch”, and will figure into next week’s two-hour first season finale.
- Also form the same article, the Daytime Emmys have found a place to air. HLN will broadcast the ceremony, which takes place on Saturday, June 23, at 8/7c PM.
Last week, “Cougar Town” co-creator and executive producer Bill Lawrence has announced that he won’t be following the show as showrunner from its current home on ABC over to new station TBS for next season. Also leaving his post is co-creator Kevin Biegel.

A few news bits from today.
- We already know for a while that Lindsay Lohan is playing the iconic Elizabeth Taylor in Lifetime’s upcoming movie based on the movie star. But as of today, courtesy of Deadline, we also know who will play another, equally iconic character. Grant Bowler (“True Blood”, “Ugly Betty”) has been cast to play Richard Burton, the actor who was married twice to Taylor. His casting was finalized today after a reading with Lindsay Lohan. Production is set to begin on June 4, for an air date TBD.

For its upfront presentation a week ago, The CW has released three clips of its new shows premiering in the fall. But there were no official trailers available.
Since then, The CW has updated its show pages with official previews for the fall shows, which are only available from within the US. In case you haven’t seen them, here are they, without geographical restrictions.
